Globally, the percentage of venture funded women-founders has been static for almost 20 years and suggest that women founders received just $1.9 billion (2.2%) of the $85 billion total invested by U.S venture capitalists in 2017. Bringing it home to Nigeria, we have barely scratched the surface for women-funded startups despite the fact that women businesses make up more than half of Nigerian businesses. Despite this, we still see very little funding allocation to women.
Therefore, we are taking deliberate steps to work with female-founded businesses through our curated Tech In Heels program. We would love to hear from you about your ideas for collaboration and partnerships.
